Looking for an adventure with a bit of history? The Wolf Creek Guest Ranch is the perfect place to experience an original Amish Cabin on a private working horse ranch. The Amish Cabin was originally a corn crib built in the mid 1800's in Ohio. The hand hewn peg timber and original barn wood has been reclaimed and rebuilt on Wolf Creek Guest Ranch. Guests will find this unique cabin interesting as well as educational. This cabin is one of two historical properties located on the ranch.(Don’t worry, the Sunset suite does have electricity as well as a/c and heat)
The Sunset suite is one of many properties on the ranch and sleeps up to three guests. Upon arrival guests may be greeted by the ranchers: mini goats, miniature ponies, or many of the other animals that call Wolf Creek Guest Ranch home. The Sunset-Amish Suite is located on 60+ acres of beautiful hill country land that includes a pond, swimming pool, petting farm and so much more. This cabin is located 11 miles from Fredericksburg and Kerrville making it the perfect location for a fun day trip to many of the hill country favorites.
The Sunset suite is one of two suites in the Amish Cabin, each with a private entrance. Guests have the option to reserve the entire Amish cabin or an individual suite. Inside this one bedroom, one bath suite, guests will see the perfect mix of old and new. Expertly decorated with specific historical pieces as well as modern conveniences, guests will feel as if they have stepped back in time with all the conveniences of modern day.
Relish in the gorgeous vaulted ceilings, wood floors and extensive woodwork throughout the entire suite. The Sunset Suite will sleep three guests comfortably. With a bit of a rustic western flair, the upstairs loft hosts a king bed and a futon sleeper sofa. Guests will find this space cozy and welcoming perfect for a restful night. Skillfully designed, the bathroom will have you forgetting you are staying in an 1800’s Amish cabin. Sink into a luxurious jacuzzi style bathtub with gorgeous tile surround. This relaxing space is the perfect escape for that bubble bath you have been craving.
The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave and fridge, a coffee maker, and all the basics. Enjoy a meal at the pine table or dine outside on the porch looking out at the beautiful hill country. Guests also have access to a washing machine and dryer.
With so many adventures to be found guests will never find themselves wondering what to do. Spend time swimming at the shared Ranch Pool located just outside the Guest Lodge back porch. With the spectacular views guests may find themselves spending the entire day soaking in the sun. Only a short walk away, enjoy the stocked fishing pond. Guests are sure to catch something but remember you must release your catch of the day! The Pony Pasture will offer hours of entertainment for all. Enjoy feeding and petting the mini goats and mini ponies as well as other animals. Adventure enthusiasts will like the nature trails, with over 60 acres to explore there is no telling what they may see. An evening of fun can be had by all! Come together around the ring of fire. Enjoy an evening of popping corn, melting smores, stargazing, and camp stories. In addition, guests also have access to outdoor games of horseshoes, a trampoline, swings, propane barbeque pit and so much more.
Looking for an outing for the day? Fredericksburg is only minutes away. Visit one of the many local wineries or travel Wine Road 290 that offers 19 wineries within a few miles of each other. Historical Main Street offers charming locally owned shops, delicious restaurants, as well as two museums: the National Museum of the Pacific War and the Pioneer Museum. Spend the day in Kerrville at the Schreiner Park located on 517 acres on the Guadalupe River, swim, rent boats or enjoy hiking trails. The Museum of Western Art and the Pollinator Museum are fun and interesting for both old and young. Indulge in one of the fabulous restaurants while listening to local artist music. Visitors will not be disappointed there is so much to see and do in the Hill Country.
