Dripping Springs – Find Your Gateway to the Hill Country

Welcome to Dripping Springs – the Gateway to the Hill Country! Located twenty-five miles west of Austin and an hour and a half from San Antonio, this little town offers abundant natural beauty and plenty of outdoor activity. Dripping Springs is officially recognized as the Wedding Capital of Texas!

Dripping Springs is the Wedding Capital of Texas located as the Gateway to the Hill Country.

Start with Dripping Spring’s most popular attraction – Hamilton Pool Preserve.  This natural wonder was created over 8000 years ago by a subterranean river collapse creating the magnificent fifty foot waterfall and grotto enjoyed today.  The park limits the amount of people at the pool at one time, therefore reservations are required during the peak summer months.

Minutes from Hamilton Pool is Reimers Ranch.  Located on 2,427 acres bordering the Pedernales River, Reimers Ranch is an outdoor lover’s dream. It is best known for its world- renowned rock climbing faces and eighteen miles of mountain biking trails. Reimers Ranch also has plenty of shoreline for swimming and is especially popular when Hamilton Pool has a waitlist or is closed. Another feature of this beautiful park is its Observatory. See the rings of Saturn, the brightness of Jupiter, craters of the moon, and even star clusters on one of the two big telescopes available for your use.  And because Dripping Springs is a member of the International Dark Sky Community (meaning little or no light pollution) staring deep into the cosmos is easy and always illuminating.

Dripping Springs is also a great food and drink destination. Restaurants abound that both locals and tourists frequent and there are a number of wineries, distilleries, and breweries that have made their home in the hills of Dripping Springs. Places like the Bell Springs Winery, Deep Eddy Vodka, and Twisted X offer tours and tastings.

You can also take a trip out to the Texas Hill Country Olive Company.  It offers tours of the olive orchard, a tasting room and bistro in which to sample the wares, and an impressive array of olive oil and olive oil infused products are for sale. Since the Central Texas soil composition is very similar to parts of Italy, the olives are exceptional and the finest in Texas.

When you visit Dripping Springs be prepared for a feast of the senses.  Food, fun, and outdoor exploration await.
